Online-Shops. In Internet business trade, high-availability and rapidly adaptable payment services are needed for the final purchasing act at the end of the digital added-value chain.

The extent to which the management of company-critical business processes depends nowadays on the continuous availability of IT services is also evident when it comes to the subject of online shopping and online payment solutions. The company Mitraco, for example, uses its experience in promotional items also as the exclusive merchandising partner of the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) and runs its internet shop.
Since the subject of experience has accordingly significant relevance in the relatively young online payment industry, with Wirecard CEE, a payment partner was selected who were able to show long-standing experience and international expertise in this area. In addition to Design and Usability, a future-proof flexibility was of central importance to the Online Shop for Mitraco, such as the integration of mobile numbers through the increasing use of Smartphone.
"Especially with fan articles, we noted a high number of impulse buys, depending on how the national team played. If the fans can then order and pay quickly via their Smartphone, it is of course a great advantage", says Ilona Bosch-Holzeis, Marketing Manager at Mitraco. She advises operators of online shops in general to: "Always put yourself in the place of the customer, always let non-business people look at the designs for the online shop, this brings important impulses"

Added Value
An added-value chain that is digitized right-through as far as possible and the subject of payment are primarily concerns of the retail sector. The franchise business “Vom Fass” located in Dornbirn is specialised on high-quality food and and luxury food items, which have been offered for some years via an internet shop. As an originally stationary trader, the business could not fall back on any internal experience for design and implementation of an online shop and required a payment service provider with corresponding resources as well as experience and know-how.
Vom Fass likewise selected Wirecard CEE as its partner, the primary basis of its decision was the uncomplicated connection to the existing shop system and also the internationally supported expertise when selecting the payment method to be used. An essential criterion was also flexibility regarding future expansions into the area of Mobile Commerce through the continually increasing use of Smartphones. “Wirecard provides information again and again, which supports us with further decision-making and competent administrators are available for queries”, says Bernhard Kuster, owner of Vom Fass.
